GITM Number 100 The Truth About Men

Here it is, GITM comic #100! And they said it wouldn’t last! And yes, I’ve cut down a bit due to my other ventures, but I assure you, GITM will be around for a long time!

Anyway, in today’s comic we learn what Real Men™ do in the bathroom together. It reminds me of one of Stan’s songs called Mark My Territory, a song about ‘his’ manliness! Click the link and enjoy! Mark My Territory

Chicken Fried!

Well Primate Posse™, we still don’t know exactly why Stan’s been booted out of the house by his wife, but maybe Hilda is gaining some insight! You gotta wonder if Stan didn’t learn enough the time his wife made him spend a day as a woman so that he’d know what it’s like. This story is told in Stan’s song To Be a Woman (as usual, click the link to listen). It’s hard to believe he’d submit to such humiliation, let alone write a song about it afterwards but, apparently ‘he’ did!

On another note, you may notice that this week’s strip doesn’t have colour. Well, you see, I was drawing a guest strip for the fabulous Vinnie the Vampire webcomic and when I was finished, I really thought it looked a lot better than GITM looks in black and white. It occurred to me that the reason was, at least partly, the use of a lot of solid black. This is reminiscent of Calvin and Hobbes, and I don’t need to tell you what an amazing looking comic that was! And VtV too, for that matter ;). So this week, as an experiment, I decided to add some solid black and lo and behold, I really liked the overall look of my inked comic. So I decided to post this week’s comic without the colour. What does everyone think? Is the colour vital to GITM? In many ways, I still prefer a daily comic to be in black and white since I’m a bit of a traditionalist. But anyway, please share your thoughts! And by the way, Tim Green, the creator of Vinnie the Vampire, tells me that my guest strip will appear this Wednesday! Mark your calendars! 🙂

Stan Dickie In The Midst

You have to wonder what Stan did to get kicked out of his house. Even I don’t know what he did, and ‘he’ is me! Anyway, when Stan caught his wife doing something she shouldn’t outta been doing he let her stay. And ‘he’ wrote a song about it, it’s called Oh Sweetie! Please click the link to listen!

On another note, my beloved Primate Posse™, Stan appears here in his comic form by popular demand! At first I thought maybe Stan would be like the adults in Peanuts, or the Mom in Vinnie the Vampire and not actually appear in the comic, but I gave in to you, Primate Posse™ and put him in the strip! And I’m glad I did! 🙂

Oh and one more thing. Primate Posse™ member (I hope y’all don’t mind if I call you that! :)) and the creator of the spectacularly drawn and – well – totally wacky comic Wacky Monkeys, drew my attention to a media player that I can install on my site. I just wanted to say that I’ve had a look at it and if all goes well I’ll have it running soon.

A Promise To The Lord

Hey Primate Posse™! Here is the song referenced in today’s comic, complete with the animation I made for it. I added the name of the fake director after I decided it was a “Stan” song: A Promise to the Lord. And here’s a little fact. I wrote this song based on the series of comics that begins here https://www.gorillainthemidst.com/2013/03/no-same-species-marriage/. This song was the first of the songs that eventually led to the creation of Stan.
