Hey Primate Posse™, I’m back! At least for now. And I have to send a big thank you to J.P. Keslensky over bugpudding.com for all the encouragement. It’s great to know that your work is appreciated by someone with more talent than you could dream of having!
So just a little update: I’ve been spending most of my art-making time oil painting and you can see a lot of that work at simonite.com. I have a few other things in the works that I’m hoping to share soon, so stay tuned!
One interesting (to me anyway) tidbit about this strip: as you can see I succumbed to the stereotype that we Canadians say “eh” all the time. But if you come to my part of Canada you’re just as likely to hear people say “hey” in place of “eh”. As in “Trump Trump Trumpity Trump, hey?”. If you go to Southern Ontario they’ll probably “eh” your head off though! Just sayin’…
Hey Primate Posse™, I just wanted to do one more strip before the election, but I didn’t even have time for colour since I have to catch a plane soon. Going away for 3 weeks, so won’t be a comic for a while.
Anyway, this strip is what I imagine my American trolls are saying. But I don’t have enough readers to have trolls! ha ha! Wish I had trolls…

Hi Primate Posse™! So it’s been a while since I posted and I decided that I couldn’t continue with the Gus as Trump’s running-mate storyline. As Hilda says in the comic, it just sat too long. So I’m not sure what’s next. If I’m not going to post regularly, I think it makes the most sense to do one off comics rather than storylines. It’ll be interesting to see if I can do that. I just seem to naturally write stories for my comics. Anyway, thanks again to J.P. over at bugpudding.com for his continued support.
On another note, if any ‘tooners are reading this, I’m thinking of trying to go digital. My previous attempts to do this were followed by a quick return of my wacom tablet to Best Buy. I know this technology is getting a lot better, but it looks like it’s pricey. Any thoughts as to the most economical way to go digital?

Well Primate Posse™, those of you who have stuck with me will notice that I haven’t posted in a while. I really have no excuses other than the fact that I’ve had to get a real job and it’s exhausting. I’m not complaining, because that’s what people do and I’ve been really lucky since I finished my MFA back in 2012. But anyway, what I need to do is to decide is how to proceed. I need to finish the current story line (although the moment is rapidly passing) and then maybe I need to figure out a way to write one-off strips without a story line. The point being, I don’t want to let the strip die, but I may not update regularly anymore. I’m still giving priority to my oil painting and to standickie.com. I’ll post some paintings and a new song soon! I’m also planning to make a video for this song: The Moon Song.
